BOER BREEDING PROGRAM

The Gentec Fullblood Boer Goat program offers you a total breeding package. It isn't just excelling in one or two traits, like growth, multiple births, milk, or the show ring that counts . . . . It's putting together the whole picture.

The Gentec program came about with the stacking of three major herdsires. CROWN ROYAL (a performance leader adding frame and length from the Botha line). BEN HUR 2H (an exceptional sire for feet, legs, correctness and muscling, adding some Burger genetics), and CARDIUM 01F (the master of style and super feminine females from the Jurie Schoeman family line). These sires enabled us to establish a multi-trait base from which to build on. To further develop our pedigrees, we have continually kept the top daughters from our most productive doe families. From these same doe families we have selected our herdsires, which we then breed back into our top doe family lines.

This offers a truly stacked pedigree; both top and bottom. A pedigree that is made up of only our top productive doe families; does that we have worked with and know their history.
PLANNED MATING PROGRAM - When most Breeders make their mating decisions it is based on the current animals in the current year just prior to the beginning of the current breeding season. At Gentec our 30+ years in the purebred livestock industry has given us the knowledge and experience to envision genetic traits in our boer goats so that our mating decisions are made a year or two in advance. When most are making breeding decisions today for tomorrow, at Gentec we envision decisions on future kids who are not even born yet, let alone even conceived. This old time philosophy taught us by the purebred cattle masters of the past and present will keep us and our customers a step ahead!

An example of this is how 2001Canadian National Champion buck, "GENTEC PRIME TIME" was bred, born, raised, shown and used as a successful herdsire.
